Voter Registration Information
The deadline for voter registration in South Dakota is October 20.
In person registration (South Dakota residents):
You may register at the Brown County Election Office in Aberdeen.

Absentee voting (begins September 23)
Absentee voting includes voting early
A citizen may request via mail or in person an absentee ballot (application). The request must include a valid US Government or SD Government issued ID (or copy of ID) or a notarized signature. Citizens may also vote early at the county office (September 23 until election day). For more information call the County Auditor and/or go to the Secretary of State's site.
Out-of-state students:
If you are a resident of another state attending Northern State University, you must either vote absentee to your home state, or change your permanent residence to South Dakota. Check the NASS site for you home state's election & voting rules, registration procedures, etc. Site put together by the National Association of Secretaries of State.
